Idea

In late August (week 34) each year, Odense plays host to a huge range of cultural activities for people of all ages, based in the well-known world of Hans Christian Andersen, with everything from theatre performances, lectures and guided tours, to street art installations, concerts, international shows and more.

Vision

The vision of the H.C. Andersen Festivals is to promote interest in the at all times relevant world of author Hans Christian Andersen in Odense and in the world.

About H.C. Andersen

Hans Christian Andersen created fantasy without equal and had a strong desire to express himself creatively. It is these characteristics that are reflected in H.C. Andersen Festivals, which is based on the central concepts of the works of Andersen fairytales, and brings adventure, fantasy, and enchantment to Odense in August.
