With this four-band concert featuring D-A-D, DIZZY MIZZ LIZZY, SORT SOL & THE RAVEONETTES, you can look forward to some fantastic live performances from bands that have each left their mark on the Danish rock scene over the course of four decades. The concert will take place in Kongens Have in Odense, right in the heart of the city, close to the railway station, the city’s vibrant life and the many festival experiences during the H.C. Andersen Festivals.
Over four decades, each of these four bands has left a significant mark on the Danish rock scene. Sort Sol started out as SODS in 1977, releasing some of the greatest punk songs ever written in Denmark. After changing their name to Sort Sol, their music became more melancholic, with frontman Steen Jørgensen’s deep voice creating a very distinctive sound.
In the early eighties, D-A-D began writing a series of iconic songs that stemmed from punk mixed with country, which quickly gained a foothold and enjoyed success all over the world. Since their first performance, D-A-D have consistently delivered entertaining shows bursting with energy.
In the nineties, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy’s melodic and grunge-inspired songs exploded onto the Danish scene and took fans across the country by storm. Their first two albums have become immortal classics, and their two most recent releases have shown a band that never stops evolving, seeking both new horizons and delving deep into the core of their musical identity.
The Raveonettes formed in 2000 and burst onto the scene with über-cool indie rock. Their razor-sharp guitar sound and haunting vocal harmonies, steeped in 50s and 60s American songwriting, quickly put them on the global music map.
Four fantastic bands, each from their own decade – and four bands who remain both genre pioneers and renowned for their electrifying live performances!
