The value of an object – and our most important stories – can sometimes be found in the very ordinary things that surround us in our everyday lives. – Marie Retpen
Explore this large exhibition, featuring many beautiful and fascinating works created by school pupils in grades 4–10 from Odense Municipality under the guidance of artist Marie Retpen.
Throughout the project, the pupils have explored how personal stories can be conveyed through ceramic materials, the work of the hand, imitation and imagination.
Each pupil has created their own piece, inspired by an object, a creature, a memory or a story that holds special significance for them. The sculptural works therefore contain both personal stories and new visual interpretations of everyday objects – from books and glasses to dogs and dinner dishes.
